Our client is seeking a Human Resource Generalist.  Supports the VP of Human Resources and helps support the day to day activities within assigned projects. The HR Generalist has working knowledge of Tennessee Worker Comp, Department of Labor & manages employee benefits. Also, represents the company by creating a genuinely positive impression of company at all times and regularly communicates in a team environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Requires the ability to keep confidentiality of information
  • Conducts audits of various payrolls, benefits or other HR programs and recommends any corrective action.
  • Prepares new employee files.
  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Conducts new employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefits. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed decisions on benefits.
  • Resolves employee concerns related to health and welfare plans functioning as a liaison with various insurance carriers.
  • Writes, revises, edits and proofreads company policies and procedures and related documents as needed.
  • Development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Conducts recruitment of exempt and non-exempt personnel and temporary employees. Maintains accurate and timely job postings. Conducts new hire screenings, background checks, onboarding and orientation.
  • Responsible for thorough and complete management of worker`s compensation claims including annual audit functions.
  • Assists in employee relation investigations, counseling and terminations under the direction of the V/P of Human Resources.

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor`s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field preferred.
  • Current Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.
